Our Commercial Grade Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring Installation Process
Step 1: Floor Preparation
LVT commercial flooring follows the profile of the existing subfloor, which means that seams, low spots, and large gaps will be filled in with floor patches during the floor preparation process.
Step 2: Trim Jambs and Casing
The undercut door trim is important to be able to slip tiles underneath doors and other areas. This can be done using an oscillating saw or handsaw.
Step 3: Laying out the Tile
When laying out the tile, it is important to leave skinny tiles at the edges. One can start by laying the commercial-grade luxury vinyl tiles along one wall and work row by row.
Step 4: Spread the Adhesive or Vinyl Tile Glue
Adhesive can be spread with a small notched trowel, covering every inch and one must ensure that no puddles are left behind. Starting at the end of the room and working toward the door is a good direction for spreading adhesive.
Step 5: Position Commercial Luxury Vinyl Tiles with Spacers
Spacers can be positioned the same way as one would do so for ceramic tiles. The spacers will stick to the floor adhesive and will later be removed with a tool such as a screwdriver.
Step 6: Using a Roller to Set Vinyl Tiles
A roller with a weight of 100 lb will provide good pressure that will aid in permanently setting the tiles in place. This can be done by rolling each tile in two directions.
Step 7: Spread the Grout
Using the narrow end of a rigid rubber float to work the grout into the joints can help to decrease the mess when spreading grout with luxury vinyl tile.
